This project has been helpful in a huge amount of ways. I’ll say in my opinion that this project is probably the most helpful school assignment I’ve ever done. It has taught us how to carry ourselves in job interviews. We were able to see both sides of a job interview so we also know what to expect. Some probably set a standard for themselves after seeing what they can do. The main takeaway I think is we witnessed all aspects of interviews throughout this project. Watching other people interview candidates left me with a couple tips that’ll be needed in the future. I also wanted to know what goes through the head of someone that is interviewing someone and luckily I was able to experience that. I learned that you must inherit a respectful tone so you’re not coming off as a rude person. When interviewing someone you must be ready for any questions they have for you. For that reason most interviewees would like to know their circumstances while working for someone. Questions that I would’ve never thought of came up through this project. For example: “How long do you plan on staying employed with us”. Now the role of the person being interviewed , I always knew you had to show the basic signs of professionalism. But you have to go above and beyond to leave an impression. One thing that caught my eye that I never did when I walked into an interview was shaking everyone’s hand and introducing myself. Your attire is very important because that’s one way of showing them if you truly care about the job. Improving my vocabulary is something I’ll work on because of this project. Most committees will be stunned if you know how to articulate your words well. Now that I have a chance to reflect on the project , when I look back when the assignment was first assigned I thought it was going to be the hardest assignment throughout the whole semester. Turns out I was wrong completely, I enjoyed this because of the group I was working with and also because of the intel I got left with. I knew that the basic levels of an interview wasn’t going to get me to pass. The single classes we had to build our questions for the interviewees was beyond helpful because you can’t possibly just brainstorm a whole bunch of questions to ask someone. The way we concluded this project is the way most students wish school was more like. We were able to interact with each other which helped us see how different other people think. Working with a group you’ll receive constructive criticism and receiving that taught me how to handle it without taking it personally. I appreciate all the methods of communication and the small life lessons I learned in this class. It forced me to do some deep self reflection and improve as a person.
